Storytelling makes an adventure of the most ordinary event. Sartre said it exactly: "Pour que l'événement le plus banal devienne une aventure, il faut et il suffit qu'on se mette à le raconter." The idea of Vélo Stories was begun specifically as a Kamishibai project to be performed and developed and created along with kids. The representation of the Kamishibai artist riding a "stories-loaded" bike to the public; to people - is a truly powerful one, which I continue to identify myself to. I wish now to ride beyond the Kamishibai and get more stories, the ones that people are telling. This project, as a whole, is an eclectic adventure. While mostly concentrating on visual storytelling, it offers the possibility to combine a variety of media and artistic forms of expression. It focuses on stories. Stories to be told; to be heard; to be seen; to be shared and listened to. These are your stories. I want to hear them. Listen to you. Sharing is empowering.
